The title of presentation: Practice of Sponge City Construction for Urban Sustainable Development – Taking Shenzhen as an Example
Ren Xinxin, Professorate Senior Engineer，obtained her master’s degree in Municipal Engineering from Tongji University in 2005. Ren is now the director of the Low Impact Development Research Center of the Urban Planning & Design Institute of Shenzhen (UPDIS). She conducted her work and research mainly in the fields of LID, Sponge City construction, rainwater utilization, urban runoff control and water system planning and management. Up to now, she has led over 100 planning and research projects, more than 10 of which have won different levels of academic and engineering awards and honors. She has published over 10 journal papers and conference papers, and 1 book. Ren took active part in preparations of several national technical standards and guidelines on Sponge City construction. In 2015, she was selected as Expert of the Sponge City Construction Technical Committee by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China (MOHURD).
